Work Coils and Workheads

Work coils may be designed to heat wire, strip, tubes or solids. Whether heating steel for forging or designing hand held coils for battle damage repair of aircraft, Cheltenham Induction Heating Ltd is at the forefront of coil design technology.

The coil shown above was manufactured for use in the nuclear industry and is one of four units mounted in a "hot box". In order to protect it from a harsh environment it has been gold plated.

Workheads

We manufacture a range of workheads covering all applications.

Workheads provide the interface between the induction heater and the work coil and can be bench or machine mounted, or hand/robot held. The workhead is connected to the induction heater via a non water cooled power cable that can be hundreds of metres long. With a change over switch, multiple workheads can be used with a single induction heater on a non-simultaneous basis.

If our standard product is not ideal, then we will produce a product specifically to satisfy our client’s requirements.
